The Anco MSN Doujin Story! (may contain spoilers)

It seemed the speed at which Kotarou had defeated his opponent was a marker for the rest of the matches. Colonal Sanders won within a minute, as did Kaede-san though both were spectacular. They were nothing in comparison with the match between Ku Fei and Tatsumiya. By the end the crowd was in an uproar of cheering as Ku Fei was lead off to rest before her next match. The entire crowd clapped and shouted congratulations. It seemed Ku Fei even had her own fanclub, a part of which was Negi himself! He and his small group of friends were off to the right of where Arthur and the others were sitting but they could still be seen.

They had an impressive comeraderie, Arthur was beginning to feel a little jealous with how well he had bonded with his students. Arthur had always been rather distant from the rest of his class. Then again this was what this whole thing was about. Though it didn't seem like many people wanted to go with him. The teacher had been able to send out some of the invitations himself and had made sure that everyone in his class had an invite. He had even added on the back when he was most likely to be at the contest. Only Lee, Magnus and Terri had managed to arrive though. And he wasn't even sure if they were here because of him.

Ah well it didn't matter. Just sit back and enjoy the show. It was certainly an impressive sight though! With all the use of magic going on he was surprised that the principal hadn't shut the competition down. Then again if anyone did see it they would probably think of it like professional wrestling - meets David Copperfield. All set up with smoke and mirrors.

"This is an incredible series of matches!" Arthur said, taking a moment to look away from the activities of the center stage.

"You're not wrong there!" Orion hadn't really said anything to him for the whole morning but his reluctance to speak must have given way to his excitement. Arthur smiled briefly before returning his gaze to the ring as an attractive young woman seemed to be fighting a robot.

Fascinating stuff! Arthur was amazed he could take his eyes off it even for a moment. And looking at Magnus, he knew he wouldn't. Especially considering what happened to the young woman's clothing by the end of the match. Now however was the big event. The one that Arthur had been looking forward to ever since the preliminary rounds... Negi Vs Takamichi.

He had heard of Takamichi, no-one in the world of mages couldn't have. He was a legend. Almost as much as Nagi himself. This would indeed be an impressive fight!

Moments after they had started the real use of magic began. There were blasts coming from Takamichi, explosions seemed to rock the stadium as he missed or Negi parried.

Suddenly an explosion rocked the stadium. Bigger and louder than the last. Nothing had changed about Takamichi's attacks and yet the explosion had seemed much more powerful than any previously. And... something strange. It seemed to take place almost a second before one of Takamichi's hits. No-one else seemed to notice in the crowd, they were all swept up in the battle, but as he looked over at Orion and the students, Arthur knew it wasn't just him.

He leaned in "Orion, I think we had better leave"

Orion said nothing and just nodded.

~Moments Earlier~

Screaming high above the campus, above the lights and the vendors, the streets and the noise something was falling.

Faster and faster, it seemed to drop through the sky like a flaming comet. Should anyone have thought to look up on that night they would have seen a bright orange flame streaking through the air heading for the campus park.

Mere feet off the ground the comet suddenly stopped. Instantly the flames died and a small boy could be seen. his eyes closed, his clothes burned and ripped.

Slowly he floated to the ground, his body seemingly as light as a feather.

On the ground, Vincent opened his eyes. Through the blurs he could see green, he blinked and rubbed his eyes. Looking around he could see he was in a garden of some kind. Suddenly he erupted into a fit of coughing, the small child's body shaking with every violent burst coming from his lungs. As soon as he recovered he looked at his hands, he had held them over his mouth while he coughed and had felt something wet on them.

They were black.

Vincent tried to shout something but only a garbled noise came out. Suddeny he was rubbing his hands and he found the blackness was falling off. Slowly his panic faded and he sniffed the blackness. It smelled like... burning things. Vincent tried to think, his hands were covered in soot, he must have breathed it in too. What had happened to him? Where was he? What was going on?

In the dim light, for the first time ever Vincent cried for someone he had never known, cried for something he had never experienced but something he was desperately needing. He cried for his mother.
