Yay! Hooray! *is happy* Highschool of the Dead is excellent and I'm thrilled you're going to subtitle the anime! Passers-by who are unfamiliar with this manga can read about it here or cut to the chase and read the entire manga on line here. This cover (below) features my favorite character from the series: Takagi Saya, an assertive and gorgeous brainiac who wasn't stuck with those stupid eyeglasses until after the story began unfolding. (Why do Japanese artists have a fixation on eyeglasses for any character who's smart?) I wonder how the ecchi factor from the manga will translate into the anime... I just hope they don't make it too prevalent otherwise it'll be nothing other than an ecchi series in all honesty. I think it has the capability to work out as a great action anime with some ecchi elements along for the ride.

Honestly, I don't care how "ecchi" it is as long as the characters and story are true to the manga's strengths. If there's any "women walk one step behind men" Kamina-style bullshit thrown in, though, I'll be giving the whole thing a miss.  =^..^= |

Thanks for that trailer link, Silent K! I was happy to see several snippets of scenes wherein my personal hero from Highschool of the Dead, Takagi Saya, wasn't wearing those stupid eyeglasses (the tedious "smart people must wear eyeglasses" cliche) which she was stuck with in the manga. Yay! On the down side, though, I see the male lead character felt free to slap one of the girls. I wish she'd slapped him right back! Oh, well ... it's Japan. I'm really looking forward to this anime series, though! If it's true to the manga, it'll feature interesting and strong characters involved in lots of action. The overall scenario is compelling, too. That both Saya and Miyamoto Rei are easy on the eyes is another big plus, as far as I'm concerned. =^..^= |
