I'm betting Spanish politicians were feeling heat from their corporate masters and consequently ordered the police to stage a public-relations event, Red.  I'm unsure as to who'd be mollified by such a claim as the police made; but most corporate executives aren't too savvy when it comes to the Internet, so maybe they'll buy that line of malarkey.

Meanwhile, in the distance I can hear Low-Orbit Ion Cannons warming up.  Perhaps we should start a betting pool:  What or whom will be the next target?  I've no clue, myself.

Huh
