I grew up on VHS fansubs, and they were very much the main means of distributing non-comercially licensed series back then. Digi-subs are so impersonal compared to the old fansubs Cry

God, I hated Web sites back then which played music.  Page loading took forever at 56 kilobytes; and with most of those music-playing sites you couldn't turn the damned music off!  Mind, if it had been good music it would have been bearable; but those Musical Instrument Digital Interface files were uniformly horrible.  "Those were the good bad old days...."
