Yep, I'm done. Off to the University of Hartford in the fall for a degree in Human Services. I gave a speech at graduation, it can be found here. Enjoy, rate, etc.

I suppose they make more of a deal of it in the States, having a prom and all.
here we come sometime and eventually get our certificate, probably during military service. and yes we have 3 years of green uniforms, just right after high school. The guys gets fit (well, the ones that actually get some training) and the girls get chubby o_O
The army includes the air force and the navy, there aren't separate branches like at the USA.

Sigh, UK has 6th form for their last 2 years of schooling, while we in the US graduate during our 12th (sometimes 11th) year. The US has their 4 years of high school, thus making graduation a big deal.
6th form is optional in the UK, thus allowing satisfied students to move on from secondary education at 16. Here in the US, you must have enough class credits fulfilled during High School in order to receive your diploma of graduation. Therefore, both 11th and 12th graders may graduate, given they suffice in credits.
The UK has the General Certificate of Secondary Education, while the US has the High School Exit Exam. Both are taken at the general same age, both are basically the same thing.
As I understand it, the UK first go to a college place, and then their primary university. The US uses the terms College and University as the same thing.
In the US, students of all varying aptitudes will attend the same school (unless they apt out to some fancy shmancy private elitist school), although some aspiring students will take advanced classes at the City College in order to gain additional credits and repute for their resume.
In the UK, the grades you may acquire are * A* * A * B * C * D * E * F * G and of course, the infamous U (unclassified, or as I say, ungradable =P)
In the US, we use a slightly different system...
A+ (101%-120%) A+ (100%) A (90%-99%, sometimes 91%-99%) B (80%-89%, sometimes 81%-90%) C (70%-79%, sometimes moved up one percentile aka above) D (60%-69%, aka above) F (0%-59%, aka above)
Note that Advanced Placement and Honors classes in High School are the only classes allowed to give out the 101%-120%. This is because AP and H classes give you a free 20% on your grade, to make up for the harshness of the course, and to allow achievers to score higher than a 4.0 Grade Point Average [not sure if they use GPA in their curriculum.)
In both the UK and US, classwork will represent a certain part of your grade, while tests and final exams make up the other part. In H and AP classes, your final exam is crucial to your overall grade.
In the US, some schools follow a 7-class year round schedule, while some follow the "block/4x4" schedule, which means 4 classes every semester, 8 classes total per year.
I hope that clears up the boundaries between cultures =D
It helps to know a UK =P

What? I'm sure the North Carolina education system is the same as the one here T_T.
Unless we're going by Asian standards... =D
