There's something about Scandinavian women.... One look at Birgitta "Bibi" Andersson (Swedish) and Liv Ullmann (Norwegian) in Ingmar Bergman's 1966 feature film
Persona is all it took to make a believer out of me! Then along came Björk Guðmundsdóttir (Icelandic). Help! I think I'm in love, again. I want to spend time in, erm, some Scandinavian country. My on-line friend Sunny Crittenden from Ontario in Canada is gorgeous and is also one of the smartest people I've ever met; and she's of Finnish ancestry. I detect a pattern.

On the other hand, in the past I've belonged to a couple of Björk-related message boards which were full of English-literate Scandinavians; and they were a bunch of contentious asshats. But I had to hang around Keflavík International Airport in Iceland for several hours on two occasions last year and everyone was nice and polite. I'll go with that impression.
