T~T Satoshi Kon, creator of such fine works like Perfect Blue (1997), Millennium Actress (2001), Tokyo Godfathers (2003), Paranoia Agent (2004), and Paprika (2006) passed away today at the age of 47. Of the works I have seen of his (Paprika being a favorite), the stuff he's done is amazing and it's sad that he passed away.

Earlier today there were rumors that he had passed away...but it was recently confirmed to be true by MADHOUSE

I was really sad to hear this even though I've only seen Paprika. Paprika was such an amazing film though. Because of it I read the book.

Thank you, Kov, for that link.  What a beautiful document Kon Satoshi wrote!  An obituary can be found at:

Satoshi Kon, Anime Filmmaker, Dies at 46 - Obituary (Obit) - NYTimes.com
Mr. Kon was a Japanese filmmaker and comic-book artist whose dazzling visual compositions won him a devoted following.

I honestly started to cry reading his last diary entry. It wasn't sadness but respect and admiration. I love how he openly says how good he is at what he does. How he has lived a short life but done so much that he doesn't mind dying at such a young age.
