We interrupt this program to bring you the following bulletin from Iceland!

A jury consisting of Björk Guðmundsdóttir and a group of twelve bison-like Earthlings has awarded the first Ritona Yoko Prize for Selfless Action to Orion, staff member of the scanlation group Anime Council.  This prize - which will be awarded on an annual basis - is named in honor of Ritona Yoko a.k.a. Yomako-sensei, the famous freedom fighter and hero of the war for independence.  The jury asserted in its award statement that Orion, in an unsolicited act of kindness and thoughtfulness, built and then gave to a member of Anime Council's message board a computing-system central processing unit.

With this award comes "a pile of money to be delivered in due course" plus "significant time with a group of warm-hearted girls in bikinis who await the recipient's pleasure at the Shellback Tavern in Manhattan Beach, California."  Orion himself was not immediately available for comment.

Inspection of new CPU continues apace

Lilith Aensland (right) prepares to have some fun at Sai Hinoki's expense, during their inspection of the central processing unit which was recently sent to Flyvåpnet by Orion.  Getting into mischief is one of Lilith's favorite pastimes, whilst Hinoki is somewhat more studious.

P.S.:  I'm going to keep posting these kinds of things until I get a rise out of you folks!

It seems to take a lot to get a rise out of these people. Smiley I also installed Office 2003 and some other goodies. If you look in your documents folder, you might see them.

Hope it turned on ok. I was somewhat worried about wires coming unplugged from the drives during shipping.

Thanks, folks, for your continuing well-wishes!  This new machine, which exists due to Orion's selfless efforts, is now officially ON DUTY as Chief Local Machine here at Castle Haran; and so it shall remain, with the IBM ThinkPad standing by "just in case" something goes awry.

angel

Henceforth this machine is named Yomako, a name familiar to most of you.  Yomako-sensei herself attended the Naming Ceremony yesterday - having come all the way from Koreha Island on her hovercycle, Gunbee.

The reason why it was so expensive to ship items overseas is the weight and the shipping method. a 4 pound package shipped using our postal service to China costs around 45 bucks to ship Express mail (which is guaranteed for 3-5 days shipping time) If it was shipped regular air post, it would be probably around 25 or so, but it would take quite a bit longer. (2-3 weeks)
