I sleep on a reclining chair in the living room so that the upper part of my body will be slightly elevated. This helps keep the inconvenience of acid reflux in check. Anyway, here are some photographs showing what I can see from that location - in the daytime, of course.

The privacy screenLooking to my left from said chair I see what's called a "privacy screen" - designed to act as a barrier between oneself and others at a beach, or on a lawn. However, it's just the thing for keeping a lot of morning sunlight out of the living room. Due to the presence of a window-mounted air conditioner, I can't lower the blinds all the way; and the Sun's glorious summer rays pour through that uncovered window space, heating up the living room. But with the "privacy screen" in place, those deleterious effects of direct sunlight are considerably lessened.

The Egyptian museumAssuming a bit more of a straight-ahead view, I can see my collection of fake Egyptian artifacts plus some real books about ancient Egypt. This tiny museum's curator, Princess Menace of Amara (also tiny), is seated at the front.

Living-room wondersLooking a bit right of straight ahead, the coffee table (upon which I have in the past actually placed a cup of coffee) comes into view. Other magnificent sights include the "dining room" and a small amount of the kitchen.

The sofa and the entrance hallLooking to my right, the couch - or the sofa - is visible. Beyond the far end of the couch/sofa can be seen my trusty old backpack, dating from the Second World War. It's military surplus from the Royal Norwegian Air Force. Beyond the backpack lies the grand entrance hallway, wherein I greet the many visitors who flock to see me at all hours.

My live-in therapistIf I look down from my lofty perch, I can invariably see
Blue the cat. She's the Watson to my Holmes, or maybe it's the other way round. In the event, her wise counsel has helped me surmount many difficult obstacles - in spite of the cat-underfoot phenomenon.

H.R.H. Queen BlueHere she is:
Blue. She never avoids photographers. Obviously, I am no longer in the comfy chair. One must descend to floor level in order to properly perceive the royal persona.

The camera and the cameramanFinally, in order to be fair, I've included a photograph of the camera. Cameras need attention, too! (This one is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H9.) Some bearded fellow seems to have gotten into the frame, however. I'll have a word with him about that, later.
