Wallpaper help wanted!

Once upon a time, folks at the Anime Wallpaper forum on 4chan were extremely helpful in removing writing and other uglifications from potential wallpaper images.  That time has, apparently, passed.  I sought such help yesterday and then lurked long enough to see my request sink to the back pages, dead.

So now I'm asking you good people at AnCo.  Do any of you have what it takes to remove the writing from this image, below?  (Actually it's the image at the other end of that image-file hyperlink, the one you get if you click on the smaller image displayed here.)

I'd be very grateful for your help in this regard.  I want to use the full-sized image, in a scaled-down version, for my desktop wallpaper; but the writing - plus those emblems in the lower-left and upper-right corners in addition to the fold mark down the center - has to go.

Thank you for your consideration and, hopefully, your help!  I know everyone's busy and I'll understand if this thread sinks to the bottom of the forum, dead.  I'll be sad, but I'll understand.

This is some hardass redraws that not just anyone can do...

...Then again I'm not just anyone, but the master of the fucking Universe.


This shit was horribly .jpg artifacted, I did some retouching on it too.

How'd you sort out the artifacts?

Surface Blur >> Duplicate layer >> Slight Gaussian blur on the new layer >> Set the blending mode to Darken. (and some opacity if the blurring gets a bit heavy.)

Surface blur is one of the greatest filters in Ps, I use it all the time.
(And the above technique is something I've found after hours of trying to get coloured manga scans to look good)

Wow!  That's excellent work, Red!  I thank you very much and am in your debt.  (Perhaps I should have left out the "in your debt" part, but it's too late now.)  Your work on that image is greatly appreciated, indeed.  It looks great - to me, a Ritona Yoko fanatic, anyway.  I'm impressed.

I've interceded on your behalf at the International Tribunal Governing Masters of the Universe - in Tombouctou, Mali - which as a result has just now appointed you Master of the Universe for a term not to exceed 200 years.  (I tried to get you a longer term, but the Tribunal said that's the longest term available nowadays.)  Your term as Master of the Universe begins a week from this coming Thursday.  Right now, the Master of the Universe is some guy in Norway:
