Do any of you know where I can gank or otherwise obtain any screen captures from the first feature film, the "Crimson Chapter" one?  I'm amazed that film has been so slow in getting on the Web, in the form of official art and not-so-official screen captures.  What's up with that?

Also, do you think either of the feature films will ever be released in North America -- in theaters or on disk?  My guess is no, at least regarding theater distribution, because Gainax still doesn't have an English-language option on its relevant Web site; and it's not as if it couldn't afford such a thing.  But I hope I'm wrong, because I'd like to see that first film on the big screen.

Thank you for any leads you can provide regarding artwork and/or screen captures from the first film.  I'm not really interested in the second film, the "Face Chapter" one, since apparently Yoko's not going to be in it.  So, shoot me!

Grin

Wow, Red, that'll be a lot of work!  *is amazed*  But I'm very glad to learn you'll be giving it a go.  Good luck!

Shocked

I noticed you've a deviantART link in your signature.  (You are now being Watched by me!)  Somebody at deviantART recently made a stamp, showing part of a screen capture of Yoko from the fight scene
Spoiler for Hiden:
where she defeated Adiane
.  I asked him where I might find that screen capture, but he never responded to my inquiry.  So there's at least one screen capture out there, apart from the couple of Yoko fight-scene images already circulating on the Web.

Huh

I've seen the Gainax artwork of that fight scene, Tragic, but I've yet to see a relevant screen capture from the animation.  In my view Gainax really needs to push more, regarding that feature film, in the North American market.  They should be flooding the Web with artwork and such like, but it's as if they just don't appreciate or understand the Internet as it exists outside Japan.

Of course Yoko is in the second movie. She's in the trailer for it on the official site.

You HAVE to use IE though.

And her character and VA are listed here:

As far as I know the movies are both the series again but I think in the first movie the emphasis was more on Yoko. There's quite a bit of new animation as well, I think.

Yeah, momor, a guy from Gainax said at a news conference that he was sad because Yoko has only a very-small part in the second film.  What's with that, anyway?  I know there's an element in anime fandom which is happy Yoko's once again being pushed into the background, so my guess is the film's producers are seeking to mollify that group.  I think, however, the anti-Yoko faction's size is greatly overestimated:  they're just loud.

Sad

Thank you for posting those links, kryss.  I'm only sorry I'm not literate in Japanese.  Why is there no English-language mirror site?  It's as if Gainax is just blowing off most of Europe and all of North America.

Its more like a very oldschool japanese mindset.

Only the people that needs to know get the information, aka the japanese people.

Just look at Squareenix, they're scared to death of youtube, even the top boss have said "youtube is dangerous".
And alwasy showing trailers in a enclosed space, no cameras allowed and so on.

Fucking stupid.
