Well, to me Celty will always be headless. I dunn like Head-Celty. Anyhow, what the hell is up with Celtys nekomimi helmet? xD Maybe those "ears" are holes for her smoke to pass through...

They either have a real purpose or they're just there for amusement/fanbase(Nekomimi Mode!).

They might serve the purpose of making her seem less intimidating. In the beginning, fans don't know much about her except she looks wicked badass/hardcore/etc. If that's the case, viewers might not want to identify w/ her or something. Putting cat ears on her helmet definitely gives her an air of cuteness and sends the message that she has some feminine tastes too. I guess that's kind of like fanservice, but...

There it is fanservice. Remember the shower.
Hey, nobody talking about 09? There it seems to be plot! At the moment I must say that Seiji always seems an asshole to me. Now is worst. Such a crybaby...

I completely agree. Maybe it's because he hasn't really been featured that prominently in any episodes prior to 9, but Seiji always comes off as really self-absorbed and self-important to me. The tone for his character is set from the first scene where he's introduced, when he walks into the classroom and says he won't be coming to school again for some (then) vague reason which he doesn't care to elaborate on. Ugh. It makes him look so pompous, like something so trivial as an education, or anybody in that class could possibly be worth his time. His sister seems just as bad, too. All she can think about is trying to wrangle her brother into some weird incestuous relationship and nothing will stop her from achieving that goal. I had to say, I was pretty surprised at that plot twist, though. What's funny is that I really like Izaya. Now, he's a self-absorbed asshole as well, but his mannerisms are just so... psychotic. You really have to love crazy characters, since there's no telling what interesting events they will help to create.

It surprised me to see Izaya with his own desk. (Supposing he hasn't stole it) But Izaya is way cooler than Seiji. His relationship with Shizuo are some great score for him. (IIIIIIZAAAAAYAAAAAA-KUUUUUUUUUUUN) Seiji just knows how to pierce with pens. Who cares? Nee-san will buy more for him
Indeed, Shizuo was too calm in that clip. Celty has got a powerful relaxing aura. :-D

I think Izaya's little "office" setup was gained through his info dealing means. I'm sure popular informants like him make quite a sum of money.
09 was hilarious when Shizuo was messing with Seiji. I liked the finishing headbutt. xD

Seji isn't much of a character imo, he just seems like an empty shell. Really, really weird character if you ask me, and uninteresting. I don't see his character developing much throughout the story.
And agreed, his sister too is damn weird, but slightly more interesting character than him, at least for now.
I'm surprised at how little the show has focused on Mikado so far.. Isn't he supposed to be the main protagonist along with Celty? Not that neither he seem like a particularly interesting character.
And I too like Izaya, he's not your average bad guy, you don't really know what the hell he's up to, nor does he seem to be the usual simple nihilistic bad guy. The most interesting antagonist are usually those who're somewhere between good and evil. And the office, I don't think he's very poor.. He probably works for organized crime and such. lol
Then again.. Celty might go postal on everyone if she gets her head back. lol Dullahans seem according to wiki like pretty evil things. :p

It did say that Izaya was with the Yakuza for a while, didn't it?

Yeah, it does. I'm surprised at how little the show has focused on Mikado so far.. Isn't he supposed to be the main protagonist along with Celty? Not that neither he seem like a particularly interesting character. Yeah, me too. I thought he'd be the focus of this anime (but I guess I'm glad he's not). However, since he's trying somewhat to find Mika to get into Anri's pants, I we'll see more of him eventually. I predict he ends up joining The Dollars or doing something weird to find Mika.

Mikado is actually pretty important though, or so we'll find out since he does have quite an impact in the novels (or the first at least).

Episode 10 was really good. Finally Mikado turns into someone cool. I loved the bit at the end with the computer. The mouse sparking for some reason when he moved it and that the password is 'baccano'.

Aha, I can imagine. Reddie wide eyed, staring at the screen, with a glow of red coming from under his face whilst holding a pen on fire.
