Gainax is actually giving Yoko Ritona center stage again, a corporate turnaround that comes as a most pleasant -- and long overdue -- surprise. Here's an excerpt from the article Delicious New Yoko Products - ("Gainax is animated a new music video for Yoko. HOT.") at AnimeVice.com - Anime and Manga, Encyclopedia and Community: "....a new Yoko character song-- titled 'S.t.a.r.S.,' is going to have an animated music video to go along with it, presumably done by Gainax. It's being released in a premium box set called Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Kirameki * Yoko BOX ~Pieces of Stars~. It comes with a special box illustrated by character designer Atsushi Nishigori, a DVD that includes the music video, the song's CD from seiyuu Marina Inoue, and a 132-page booklet containing new Yoko illustrations. I believe the DVD also has an interview with Inoue." Below are the Gainax locations of information on this product: 天元突破グレンラガン キラメキ☆ヨーコBOX -PIECS of SWEET STARSGAINAX NET|Works|Animation & Films|天元突破 グレンラガン|News&TopicsAs usual for Gainax, there's no English-language option available; so if anybody reading this is literate in Japanese, I'd sure appreciate some insight into how one goes about ordering the product. It's great to know Yoko has a place in Gainax's future plans! Let's hope there's no stupid executive meddling this time, like there was with the anime series.

But Red, odd can be good! No? Yes? I'm just happy to see Yoko on her own -- without Kamina, Nia and Simon cluttering up the place with their unnecessary presence. Even the knuckleheads at Gainax finally got it through their thick skulls that Yoko is popular. Duh! News! There's a partial English-language Web site which is taking pre-orders! It's located at.... DVDIt's due out in May, so I've gone ahead and pre-ordered it. Ta da! My laptop computer lets me change regions back and forth, up to four or six times; and I've not yet changed it from Region 1, so I'm in luck there. On the other hand, I'm not literate in Japanese. Red, do you think it'll be entirely necessary to understand what's being said on that disk? =^..^=

I read about this yesterday. I wouldn't mind getting it just to add to my collection of TTGL stuff. Hopefully other websites put it up for sale that I know what their delivery is like.

Kov, I hear you in regard to the delivery situation. At Amazon.co.jp the delivery costs almost as much as the product! =^..^=

well, if i want to get anything from Japan, ill ask my sister, because she is always ordering from Japan, and i bet they have a whole shipment container dedicated to her, but your lucky in The USA, Japan exports alot the the USA in the first place, more than China Does!, but for the UK, japan is the pther side of the world, so is even more expensive, and it also has to geo either through the panama canal, or round the bottom of Africa, so its a really long journey for japanese products.

Yay! MoMor, you're my hero! Thanks a million for posting those screen captures. I followed that link to the gurren_lagann community at LiveJournal which you provided and read the replies to yafurichao's post. They were all laudatory and thankful! Where was the anti-Yoko mob, which beat me like a rug when I posted there? Is it now safe to join that community and be supportive of Yoko? Anyway, here's a link to the video which was posted to that thread:

Hohoho I knew you'd like that Fly! Thanks for the video, I had a quick search earlier but couldn't find it. Inoue Marina is sounding awesome as always : Dbb
I really don't think the Anti-Yoko mob is all as big as you make it out to be, Fly. To be honest I haven't actually encountered any Yoko haters :\
Well I suppose if you joined the community and posted a lot of random tributes/nonsense about Yoko then I'm pretty sure anyone would beat you up =__= There are some pretty nasty people there, I don't think they like 'spam'.

I'm glad you haven't encountered any anti-Yoko people at that community, MoMor. Several months ago I joined; and I posted an entry asking for opinions on why Gainax relegated Yoko -- one of the three original leading characters -- to distant-background status, especially in light of the fact she was so popular. This reasonable and sincere question activated an attack, which in the course of more than 120 replies to my entry repeatedly accused me of being (amongst other things) a dirty old man who masturbated to images of Yoko. Many of the replies also asserted Yoko herself was a "doom bitch" who "killed" Kamina and Kittan, that she was a "whore," that her anatomy was such that she shouldn't even be able to walk, etc.Does that question I posed sound like nonsense, random tributes or spam? Do 120+ replies flaming me amount to no more than something I "make it out to be"? Mind, several members apologized to me for the mob attack and wished there was something they could do to stop it; and a few even struck back at the anti-Yoko mobsters, but after two days of continuous flaming -- which included receipt of hateful e-mails and anonymous replies to my own Web-log's entries -- I finally had to contact the Abuse people who later told me they'd mercifully removed my entry and all replies to it. (A couple of hours into the mass attack, I concluded it would be best to simply leave the community; but I was still in a state of shock and didn't think to delete my entry before leaving.) Mind, that's not the only place on line where fanatical anti-Yoko types lurk -- if you know what I mean. I think, actually, it's a mistake for me to have joined any communities or message boards relating to anime. Dogmatic support of hatred and ignorance are, apparently, requirements; and I just can't fathom such a mentality. =^..^=
