Seems like I have to post one of these monthly or something, no?
Anyways, this is a priority one here guys. I'm dying without being able to download. -_-' Everything seemed to be working fine until the beginning of this past week, when my µTorrent quit working on me... It connects and everything, but it won't connect to peers. SO, it'll list that there is peers, but no seeds ever show up, if they do it's like so: 0 (470). Basically, I haven't been able to download for the past few days and it's driving me nuts. I also don't understand why it just changed on me all of a sudden. I tried changing ports, forwarded and all, and it still doesn't work the same. Any clues?

- is protocol encryption on? - is this for all torrents? - how many peers (in total) can you connect to? it's bad to connect to too many at once, but should cause this too much. - do you have a router? - do you have a firewall\is it open for µTorrent? - erm, check the number of active torrents you allow. usually even if its 0, the next time you open µtorrent it should reset to like 8 and 5. - don't run too many torrents at once.
that's all what I can think of. and you can always try to DDL =3

Urg, I've had that problem before. It usually means you need to change your ports. But since you did that.... Idk. Firewalls maybe? I've always used Azureus/Vuze to torrent, because it's very fast. Maybe you need to keep trying to change ports until you find one that'll work. It's taken me a few times before...

- I believe so. - yup. - Not too sure, but it's never really changed or anything. - yes - Opened firewalls and other blocks - Active torrents #. Check. - I don't. Well, it's the same as usual. I'll try changing it again a few times.. PLEASE FIX IT GOD! XP

- in preferences under 'bittorrent' there should be the number of peers. check it, see if its high, I would say about 32 per torrent is good, and not too many overall. --> could clog up at bottlenecks (router, modem, somewhere in between your house and everywhere else), you don't want that. - in the 'speed wizard' (ctr+g), check if the port is open(!). If it's closed that's probably the cause. Try another & repeat until frustrated. ---> if its closed only via router, come back and we'd take that on. ---> if not, go bicomplain to your IRC, consider swapping. - try connecting directly to the internet without a router. (but do the first tip first. important for life) ---> if works, try reseting your router. - try having only one torrent active (that's what I wanted to say in # of torrents) - seriously, try another torrent. Especially the one for Open Office, should be fast (I believe) - try another computer - try another OS - try another bittorrent client. sadly.

Tragic, what service do you use to connect to the internet? I have heard some internet services stopping people from downloading torrents.

Yeah, Comcast drops service when you torrent. It causes me to frequently drop my connection, but never outright kills it for more than a second or two.
I dunno, man. Are you connecting from a college campus? Most college campuses block torrent ports (see: Shadow).

Hughes Net. It's some weird satellite ISP that is completely worthless. -_-' I'm not on a College campus and I don't think they dropped me or anything. What I don't understand, is how is was just working the other day, and then just went to shit. Also, they're good torrents from new anime episodes that have plenty of peers/seeds... (Kyouran, Kara no Kyoukai, etc...)

That makes my life just peachy.... Hopefully it fixed itself or something by time I get back home, but somehow I doubt that. I'm dying without seeing my new anime episodes out here....

Actually, the feds lifted that off now. Companies can't do that anymore. <3
