Hey. ^^"

I'm new here, and I know this probably sounds really stupid, but I haven't got the faintest idea how to use BitTorrent. I have the program and I've downloaded the first episode of Mahou Sensei Negima but I don't know how to watch it! I went to "Open Torrent File" and found it, but it just showed the name of the file, a play button and some sort of progress bar, by the looks of it.

I'd really appreciate it if someone could tell me how to open the torrent files!

I'm guessing you've saved a torrent file to your PC rather than actually downloaded the file. Basically a torrent file is like a flag for where your PC should put the file once its downloaded. Because its a peer-to-peer transfer system it might take a while but what you need to do is get a form of BitTorrent (either BitComet or Azereus if you have the RAM for the latter). If you have enough Seeds it shouldn't take too long.

If on the other hand you've already done all this you're probably just lacking a codec file. If Cyberbeing hadn't deleted the thread on it I would point you to that but seeing as he did, I'd say search on Google for the 'Combined Community Codec' pack, that should have all the latest codecs you'll need to play avi, mkv and ogm files.

If none of that works, come back and ask again. Don't forget to tell what you did and what's not happening.

By the way I'm not an admin, but  I should be! Grin

have you downloaded the whole thing or is it still connecting cause depending on what kind of client your using it can take a while to connect and if theres no seeds you wont be able to download the whole thing

you cant watch Torrent file's, they are the connection file(s) that allow the
program to find the ones that seed(share) the file that you want to download.
Negima isn't just a few kilobyte big you know, one ep is over 200 megabyte.
what you said about "play button", thats just the button that starts the download.
but after the progress bar has reached 100% you can see the movie.

red eclipse recommended media player classic to view videos and movies,
and that works better than VLC.

Id say Utorrent is better, always works faster for me, and takes less Ram of your memory... and besides that, it can be set up to run trough a proxy, if youre at a school that got it blocked or something XD
