There's tons of IRC guides out there. But since i really really want you guys to be active on IRC also I'll make this.
Here's how to make mIRC (Which is the client we're gunna use) working great and look kickass.
Start by going here:
http://nnscript.esnation.com/index.php?section=downloadDownload the version of mIRC they got there (You need that version), install it.
After that get NoNameScript from the same place, install it.
Now click the NNS icon on your desktop, and id'll start up.
You'll see a window at first startup but just close it.
It will look something like this.

mIRC options icon, which is the second icon on the icon panel.
On "
Connect" fill in all your info, here's mine:

Servers section right under
Connect.
Now look up
IRCHighway in that list, select it and click the "
Select" button.

Now click the "
connect" button there.
You will get connected to IRChighway now, wait untill the window is done.
Now what you need to do is register your nick.
Type in
/ns help register and it will tell you how to do it.
After you're done there click the
mIRC options button again.
Go to
Options tab in the
Connect tree.

Connect on startup box.
Now click the
Perform button.
Tick
Enable perform on connect.
Click the
Add button.
Go find
IRCHighway in that list.
Now you need to type in some commands.
Like the one you got when you registered your nick.
Mine is like this:
/ns identify password
/j anco
So it should look like this now:

If you followed my guide you should automatically connect to IRChighway,
identify your nick and join that channels on startup.
That's it, here's some usefull commands too.
(No quotes of course)
/j "channel-name" << Join a channel.
/msg "nick" "message" << Send someone a PM, or just click their name in the chan list.
/nick "your-nick" << Change your nickname.
/hop << Rejoin a channel.
/clear << Clears the window of all text, good when Carnage have been typing stupid stuff.
/whois "nick" << Stalk someone >_>
That's about it.
