Japanese Text Input Problems in Opera 11.01 for Mac

Whenever I change to Japanese font and try to type in Opera, it brings up this goddamn annoying bar at the bottom of the screen instead of letting me type into forum boxes. This wouldn't be too bad except it never lets you post anything you put into it; the box just disappears. Anyone know how to fix this incredibly annoying feature in Opera?
