Just adding a comment....

They have an extension that adds on the speed dial option to FF.

But I'm not choosing sides here Tongue

firefox has a built in pop up blocker, since like, version 0.5 >.>

and I don't care for dial up thingy, though the hand gestures are good (which can come in the form of an addon)

but in the end, under stress (lots of tabs etc), Opera does not fair better than Fx (but more probably a lot better than IE)

But, no matter how many tabs you have; Operas vastly superior back and forth function is still there.

The only fundamental problem I've noticed in FF is that if you leave it open for a long time with a lot of tabs it will start eating your memory sometimes resulting into a crash.

Still for me, Opera is not an option, since I've collected/created a huge arsenal of extentions. I'm not even sure if that browser I'm using should be called FF anymore...

Opera is definitely faster then Firefox and IE but I still overall prefer Firefox. Until Opera gets something like Adblock Plus, NoScript, and Greasemonkey I don't think I'll be switching over anytime soon.

I don't like Advertisements, No Script keeps me protected from malicious sites, Greasemonkey scripts are great for website customization, and there are other things like NextPlease, Open In RegEdit, IETab, GooglePreview, Googlepedia, LocationBar2, Download Statusbar, TabMixPlus, DownThemAll, and Hyperwords to name a few that save me time and make my browsing experience better.

I think it's safe to say the because of add-ons I am more productive with Firefox then any other browser. Now if my only choice was between Firefox without any add-ons and Opera then that is a different story and I would probably end up using Opera. In the end Firefox's add-on ability makes all the difference to me.

The linux version of Opera is a little annoying because it doesn't seem to recognise the SCIM with lets me type in Japanese... I should email them about it.

I heard Firefox R3 is pretty neat, much better than the first 2 versions, so they say.

Opera 9.5 is out, love that they've fixed its memory bug.

Its as fast no matter how many pages you've visited the whole day, or tabs you have up. (atleast from my experiance)
And the default design is by far the smexiest of any browser out there.

Edit:
And it now renders java script and html twice as fast as it did before.
The fastest just got twice as fast. >_>

for the most part, the rendering isn't the source of the slowdown, it's the bandwidth. meh.
I suppose you have more memory to handle with.

also, firefox 3 candidates are being released and I've been told that there were a lot of improvements.
Tried it (kinda, portable edition) and it was pretty nifty. (I had to set the cache to 100mb though, it was on 0).
